I think the coloring of these images is very fitting for Memorial Day!

These images are some of my new faves. I love the mom of these babies for giving 110% in coming up with outfits, they look fabulous!!!

I'm feeling the bug to do another really fun session. Can I find a mom that is willing to work with me to do a SUPER FUN summer shoot?? I will help and guide you, you're not on your own! I have a great idea that I'm gonna try with my own kids. But, you know how it is trying to take pictures of your own kids. Maybe people don't realize this but, my kids respond the same way yours do to the camera getting pulled out. Just because my camera is bigger, doesn't mean I can get them to cooperate with me. And I have about 1/10th the patience for my kids than I do for my clients. I need to pray about that.

And.... a black and white. For good measure:)

My boy and his haircuts......

It's never good. But today, was the worst ever.

I brought him to a place in Fayetteville called Toadly Kool Me Hair Salon. I thought that sitting in an airplane while watching Thomas the Train would be a pretty good distraction for losing about 3 inches of hair.

It started out okay...... he wasn't crying or freaking out. Until the hair started getting on his neck and arms and finally legs. Yes, of course he was wearing a cape. But it still gets on him. And then that's when he started to lose his mind. No, I mean, TOTALLY LOST HIS MIND. I have never seen him like that. I was so embarrassed. I'm actually going to say that it was probably one of the most embarrassing moments of parenting in these last 4 years. He was screaming and shaking and bawling. It was terrible. The girl actually did a great job....... I can't believe how good it turned out considering the circumstances.

As soon as the haircut was finished, he totally stopped the insanity. I looked around the room and apologized to every parent in the salon.

I gave her a $5 tip. No lie. She definitely deserved it.

Just trying to figure out what to get this kid for his 3rd birthday. Cardboard box, roll of toilet paper, rubber room, McQueen, hugs and kisses? You know how sometimes the terrible 2s actually happen when kids are age 1 or 3 (or 16)? Yeah....... I think we qualify for the 3 year old terrible 2s. I'm not going to give details but if anybody would like to come smell my house, you'd know what I woke up to this morning. Not cool.

I just want everybody to know that I am not obsessed with my porch (hence the 2nd photo shoot on my porch). Normally the light is really awesome there, it's extremely easy access and let's just face it: I WAS IN A PINCH! These pictures are for our Christmas card! I'll be addressing these from Minnesota! And actually, the light is terrible on my porch in December . The sun is lower and shining right in, not cool. I really wanted to have our Christmas wreaths in the background, just to show it was Christmas time, and I couldn't even do that. Grrrr......
But it's my own fault for not planning ahead and it doesn't change how cute I think my babies are!!

I keep coming back to this shot, trying to decide what it is that I really love about it. I think I know now after adding this overlay......
This shot looks like a candid snapshot taken in the 40s or so. I'm not great with pin pointing the look for a particular generation but this just shouts VINTAGE to me. Her clothes, the way she's grabbing the suitcase, the old trunk, the old station..... I just love how this came together.
And, she's a beautiful girl:)

I'm only down 1 moldy pumpkin from the outdoor display that Eli rocked out for me. So I'm adding this rotten pumpkin to take its place:) hehehe.... Dane has SUCH a 2 year old attitude on him lately. In response to every question he'd like to say no to is, "NO WAY!". Hahaha.... He's doing great with sentences and has Eli and I cracking up all the time. And if I would remember to record him singing 'Amazing Grace', I'll post it. Oh. My. Word. It sounds like this:

Recently, I've been shooting lots of babies. First it was newborn babies and yesterday, it was twins. I'm sure these boys' parents thought I was a space case as I stood there staring at the babies before I walked out the door. But really, I was contemplating..... Do I want another baby? After the meltdown, I watched them fall fast asleep and they were like twin angels. I've had so much fun holding the babies, putting them to sleep, watching them pee all over. And for now, I think I'm going to say this is just one of the perks of the job: Getting to be with babies for 2 hours and send my bad-self home.

No more babies here, for the Cox's:) I'm just going to love these boys for now.

Oh my gosh, these girls were ALL GIRL. Which is awesome. Especially when you are rocking some hot pink! They had me cracking up so hard about boys..... I told them I thought my husband was so cute and they thought that was surely the most disgusting thing they'd heard all day. Ha! But they were all squirrly and giggly if any other boys came walking by. LOL.....

Okay, I'm just going to say it like it is. I think this little guy has a thing for blondes, possibly this blonde. About half way through the shoot, he totally just lays one on me. It was juicy and I loved it! His dad should be proud!! hahaha!

Kai did great modeling Belli Bambini's clothes. And he was pretty awesome on a skateboard for only 2 years old! I was impressed!

Ooooh, I'm loving these downtown shots. But more than that, I'm loving these girls. They really are the sweetest girls ever. I literally had to touch Georgia's face several times during the shoot because I just can't help it. And of course at the end of the shoot, I get hugs. All shoots don't end like that. These sisters are adorable, Brookie and Allie. Well, Brooke and Allison. Happy Birthday to Allie, 3 years old!! We had a nice day of weather for this shoot and it seems like it's here to stay!

It's so-small-town how I met the girls' mom. At a little outdoor evening gathering called First Friday, downtown. Then she helped us with the windows for the house we are building and I helped her with some pictures:)

Beautiful in February

February has mostly been a miserable month, weather-wise. However, the weather was beautiful on this day and so was the bride! There were so many qualities about this bride that I really love. I don't even know her but I have to tell that she seemed to be the most genuine and laid-back bride I have ever met. Really, she seemed to truly love each and every guest at her wedding and were thankful for them to be there. Is this even possible?!? Hahaha!!

About the laid-back part? Yeah, she called me like 5 days before her wedding asking if I'd take a few shots! Ha!!

A 5x5 card mounted on matboard to be given with out an envelope. This card will stand firm and can be rested on an easel or on a monitor, whatever your giving looks like this year!

Jessica and Petra did about a 2 hour photoshoot where we captured their jewelry, stained glass, coffee beans, and the ladies just being, well, swanky. I then made the selections, enhancements, burned all the edges, and turned them into wall art. Where would you put this in your house???!?!!!
